You are Enough

Updated: Jan 29

Even though you may feel shame, you are enough.

Even if you feel guilt for past deeds, you are enough.

Even when you feel ungrateful, you are enough.

Even if you know the distress that comes from trauma, you are enough.

Even though you feel anxiety throughout the day, you are enough.

Even if darkness comes upon you through depression, you are indeed enough.

Even if you were let go from your employment, you are enough.

You are enough even if you must establish firm boundaries with a parent who wants a co-dependent relationship.

Even if you don’t love yourself sometimes, you are enough.

Even if you are experiencing grief for a loss, you are enough.

You are enough even when you make a mistake at work because of a lack of awareness.

Even if you struggle with alcohol, Xanax, gambling, pornography, or whatever else, you are enough.

Even if you feel ostracized from your family, you are enough.

Even if you become entrapped in a toxic relationship with someone exhibiting narcissistic traits, you are enough.

Even though you have a hard time identifying feelings, you are enough.

You are enough even when all seems dark, dreary, and challenging.

Even though anger may get the best of you sometimes, you are enough.

Even if you have difficulty maintaining a routine, you are enough.

Even when negative self-talk invades you, you are enough.

Even though physical pain overwhelms you to the point of tears, you are enough.

Even though friends may pull away for no understandable reason, you are enough.

You are enough even if your work manager treats you as lesser than equal.

You are enough even if you struggle to write the first page of an article, school paper, essay memoir, or novel.

Even when you feel lonely around other people, you are enough.

Even when you feel fear, you are enough.

You are enough even when you think no one can relate to what you are going through.

Treat yourself kindly. Look at yourself with compassion. Show up for you. Can we work on ourselves to improve interpersonal relationships, motivation, time management, and so on? Absolutely. Action and acceptance can co-exist. You are enough. Right here. Right now.

A man looking out at the sunset knowing he is enough.
